What ingredients are contained in HOLY Hydration®?
Coconut water
We’re in love with coconut — and for good reason: coconut water is naturally rich in electrolytes! This helps to regulate your fluid balance. It also contains various important minerals and vitamins that help maintain the normal functioning of our bodies.
Goji berry juice powder
Goji-what? We also call them ‘superfruits’ – because that describes them pretty well: goji berries are rich in antioxidants and protect your cells from stress. For example, they slow down the ageing process and boost the immune system. This all-rounder also provides a generous dose of iron. This can help you feel less tired.
Potassium
Potassium is important for many functions in our bodies. This electrolyte helps you maintain a healthy fluid balance. It also ensures that your muscles and nerves function properly. So it’s the perfect aid for activities that make you sweat, such as sport – or whenever you lose a lot of fluid.
Magnesium
Magnesium plays a part in many important processes that keep your body functioning properly. Just like potassium, magnesium helps you regulate your body’s fluid balance. This electrolyte also supports healthy energy metabolism and muscle function. Furthermore, it promotes healthy skin.
Zinc
Zinc is an essential trace element that the body cannot produce itself. That is why we need to get it regularly from our diet. Zinc strengthens the immune system and actively helps your body fight off infections and illnesses. So zinc is a real cold-buster!
Vitamins B6 and B12
B vitamins are good for the brain and the nerves! B vitamins are essential for the body’s energy metabolism and the nervous system. What’s more, they can help reduce tiredness. Reason enough for us to add these two B vitamins to our HOLY Hydration® drinks!
Rock salt
It’s not for nothing that salt is called ‘white gold’: rock salt is in a league of its own. It is extracted from depths of several hundred metres and is rich in minerals and trace elements. These are important for the body’s nutrient supply and can help to correct mineral deficiencies.
Natural fruit flavours
We love it natural! That’s why we avoid artificial flavourings altogether. They aren’t the root of all evil… they aren’t harmful or unhealthy, but they just don’t taste as good. That’s why we spare no expense and not only provide you with fruity classics, but also offer you exotic flavours made with natural flavourings.
Natural dyes
All or nothing: we also avoid using artificial colourings. From turmeric and safflower blossoms to beetroot extract, we use only the finest ingredients to achieve our vibrant colours.
Sweeteners: stevia and sucralose
As explained in more detail in the sections on energy drinks and iced tea, we have made a conscious decision to use sweeteners instead of sugar. This is because, in our view, small amounts of sweeteners are significantly better than the 5g of sugar per 100ml found in standard isotonic drinks. After all, just 500ml brings you very close to the recommended daily intake of sugar.
In response to your requests, we’re now using even more natural sweeteners. That’s why our drinks now contain only stevia and small amounts of sucralose. The quantities are so small that you could drink 8 HOLY Hydration® drinks and still not reach the recommended daily intake for either sweetener. So, for us, it’s clearly the better option :-)
What else is in it?
Acidifiers (citric acid, malic acid):
We use small amounts of citric acid and malic acid – to provide a slight tangy kick to balance out the sweetness. Malic acid and citric acid are completely safe, particularly in the small amounts contained in HOLY. Nevertheless, we do not recommend consuming malic or citric acid in large quantities, as this can be harmful to your teeth.
Silicon dioxide:
At HOLY, silicon dioxide is used as an anti-caking agent. It ensures that our powder does not absorb moisture and consequently clump together. This is particularly important for our red varieties, as they contain large quantities of beetroot extract. The
